Earlier this week I had the misfortune of one of my lamps in my room breaking. So, this weekend I headed to Goodwill and picked a lamp I thought would look the best with a little DIY.
Unfortunately, there wasn't many different options to choose from but out of the ones I had, this one had the best shape. The color does not work with my room but I do have gold so the only thing I had to do was spray-paint.
I cleaned it off with water and soap and then lightly sanded it with some fine sand paper. This allows the spray-paint to stick better.
After much thought of whether I wanted to leave or spray-paint the gold base- I decided to leave it. I taped off that and the top to make sure no black got on it.
I then spray-painted it with Rustoleum glossy black spray-paint.
In total I only spent five dollars on this so I am very happy with how it turned out. What do you think?
