shocker, we've got another white and black outfit!! I know, I caught you by surprise;) This shirt is so flattering in the way that it makes you look like you have no stomach because it does such a good job at sucking it all in, which is very nice.
Once again, rah's here to show us her outfit. and once again, she pulls off something I could never pull off (aka those pants). Sarah and I have very different styles because shes not afraid to wear stuff so she looks cool in the majority of stuff she wears haha. enjoy enjoy;)
I am debating in the next few weeks going gluten free. A lot of people in my family have done it but I just don't know if I can give up my beloved pasta. However, I might just suck it up because from what I have heard, you feel amazing after it. I'll keep you updated if I succeed or not;).
When this is posted I will be on my way back to Wisconsin. As sad as I am to leave this place, I am ready to get back into the routine of things just for a few days before I leave again for Ocean City! Skaneateles, you were good to us (except you could have been a little warmer)!
Hat// Dress// Shoes
I was lucky enough to have Sarah come to Skaneateles with me. Sarah dresses better then anyone I know and is wayyy better at fashion then I will ever be, While she was here I took a ton of pictures of her outfits so you will be seeing her for a little bit (yay!). I love this dress and how easy it is to just throw on and still look put together.
As I am sure you know, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is in full progress. Unfortunately, I am not quite old enough (one more month!) to get a Nordstrom card but a girl can dream. Luckily for me, the sale comes out to the public this Friday. These are the main things I am eyeing out and will definitely be purchasing a few them!
Yesterday all my family came into town so we headed to a nice restaurant for dinner to catch up with everyone. Skaneateles is seriously amazing and it makes me so jealous of my mom that she grew up in such a beautiful place. The weather has been hot during the day and cooling off at night, which in my opinion is perfect. I am constantly going through black pants because every single pair I own fades (annoying). So, I got a cheap option that will last for at least a month or two and I actually really like them. Hope everyone is having a great week!
Does this romper look like pajamas to you? My family is split whether they think it does or not but personally I definitely think they are not pajamas, Anyways, this is probably the most comfortable romper ever and I dressed it up with a bralette.
Every year I either road trip or fly with my family for a vacation back in our "home area" aka the east coast. Depending on where we are going, the trip takes 10-12 hours, which is definitely a doable drive. However, that still gives me hours to get highly annoyed sitting in such a tight space with the rest of my (loud) family. Through the years, I've learned some road trip essentials that help me get through the drive.
-Earphones: I'm sure you saw that one coming a mile away. I honestly don't think I could get through a road trip without ear phones and these are such a cute pair.
-Spotify: I actually just downloaded Spotify and have really liked it. Lately I have been really into there "Stress Free" stations that have Jack Johnson like artists so I am assuming thats what I'll be listening too.
-Phone Charger: This one goes with the earphones and Spotify. I don't know about you, but my phone dies so quickly! I have a phone charger with me most of the time (classic teenager) and this portable one is perfect.
-Book: I usually pick one book to read on my trip. Reading only lasts me about 30 minute increments so I end up using it for the beach or lake too. Right now I am reading Paper Towns and am so excited for the movie to come out!
-Snacks and Beverages: Every year before we leave, we head to Costco to stalk up on some of our recent food and drink favorites. I'll definitely be getting some dark chocolate flat pretzels and snapples! Has anyone else tried the dark chocolate flat pretzels? They are amazing!
-Comfy outfit and slip on shoes: This is a major one. For shoes I will either be wearing this pair or this pair (on sale!) because they're easy to take on and off. I always like looking decently good for road trips (I know, weird) because it makes me feel better when we arrive to our destination so I am opting for a romper. This one is perfect for a long ride (and less than $15!). There is nothing worse then being in an uncomfortable outfit for that long of a time.
-Camera: You might just use your phone for this but if you have a bigger camera, don't forget to get it! You never know what you could pass on long drives.
Travelling to upstate New York in a few days for a nice week long lake vacation. My mom grew up where we are staying and both my sisters spend their whole summer there so it will be fun to finally get down and experience the hype they all talk about. This outfit is perfect for running errands or going somewhere casual. This shirt is so comfortable that I have basically lived in it since I got it. Also, these shoes are from Forever 21 and at a ridiculously cheap. Hope you guys are having a great week!
Just two more days until it is one of my favorite days of the year- Fourth of July! Every year I make a pizza cookie (or cookie pizza; I spent a good minute or two deciding which way to order that) with strawberry and blueberries on top ordered like a flag. This year I decided to change it up a little and came up with the easiest cookies ever. Seriously these are so easy.
-Pre-made sugar cookie dough (I just used the Nestle version)
-8 ounces of cream cheese
-1/4 cup of butter (unsalted)
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-3 cups of powdered sugar
-Your choosing of fruit (I just used strawberries)
1. Cook the pre-made cookies according to their directions. If you use the Nestle version, I find the cookies come out best if you cut the dough into squares then roll into a ball with your fingers. I then went and flattened the rolled dough with the bottom of a cup. Once cooked, let the cookies cool off completely on a rack.
2. In a mixer, combine cream cheese and butter on medium speed for two minutes. Then add vanilla extract. Slowly, add in powdered sugar. If you think the icing needs more powdered sugar, add up to a cup more (so in total four cups).
3.I used a disposable piping bag to put the frosting on the cookies because I think it looks better and is way easier.
4. Cut your fruit however you would like and place on top of cookie.
Even though these cookies work perfectly for Fourth of July, I am planning on making them year round because of how good they are. Enjoy!
I am currently having a major house (apartment) crush.. this house is a dream. The way she incorporated the modern with still looking classic is perfect. Also, all the gold fixtures *insert heart eye emoji*. Usually, I lean towards the bright white kitchens but this kitchen might have turned me. She makes it look so good!
Go check our the rest of this house (or town home or apartment) here!
